Mysearch.cc set to Homepage

My homepage always defaults back to (mysearch.cc), I have reset homepage, run adaware, spybot, hijackthis, even in safe mode.

HijackThis is not something you run, it is something you use...

MySearch 'neeeds' eradication. Ditto on (123456's) 'post a log' advice. :)

i have had this problem twice on my pc and both times i have done a search for the file from the start menu and both times it has got rid of the file and then just reset your homepage :) :)

Run Hijack this

Choose Scan

After Scanning, choose save Log.

Copy the contents of the log into your next post

The Malware authors are more clever than that. If they just announced themselves it would be too easy to remove. The malware is hidden throughout the system and will have to be removed by people who have experience.

Useing Hijack this if you do not know what you are doing can result in the conversion of your computer into a door stop.

Please post the log and we will be able to help you.

Mysearch.cc is a known Coolweb domain.
In addition to the advice given above, download CWshredder from here (http://www.subratam.org/index.php?page=removal).
(Note, this is an older version of CWshredder, but there appear to be some bigs in the new version 2.11 from the Intermute site)

Unzip and run it. Click on "fix" not "scan".
