Windows XP is the product under development that the folks in Redmond, Wash., have code-named "Whistler." What does "XP" stand for? I'm not quite sure, although some of the Microsoft PR folks are saying the company's new theme is "Experience" — so it's intended to just sort of conjure up the image of "experience," much in the way ME conjured up the image of . . . of . . . um . . . well, whatever.

CE is not an abbreviation of any two words. It doesn’t stand for anything.

NT stands for No Text http://www.emsps.com/oldtools/mswinv.htm

this should get you squared away.the link is to old windows versions.
