Hello everyone, new to the Forum. I had (hopefully) a simple question. I have family that have upgraded their PC and are now broadband. We both run Veo (about 50 bucks) webcams for chat. The fam says their cam seems fine... a little grainy but fine. I think I have a more particular taste because I'm used to the better quality cams at work we video conference with. Now I know I will not get that HIGH of a quality, but for around 80-100 bucks, does anyone have any suggestions? I run XP on broadband....2.8 gigs, 512 mem, 80 gig hd. Thanks for any assistance!

I usually prefer Logitech for my peripherals, like mouse, keyboard, joystick, etc. They also make good webcams. One of the reasons I like Logitech is because they make peripherals, and that's about it. So they're really good at what they do.
Looking on Newegg, I see a couple Logitech webcams that would be good to have. For $75 (including shipping) there's the QuickCam Pro 4000 USB (retail version) that works automatically with MSN messenger. It can do 15fps at 640 x 480 res, or 30fps at 320 x 240 and below. For $105 (including shipping) there's the QuickCam Orbit (retail version) that can do 30fps at 640 x 480 res, and it has the ability to track people's faces and follow them around the room. A bit freaky but it would be fun to play with! :p
