Hello All,

I didn't see any threads for msn issues, so I"m posting it here. Everyone here seems to be very helpful and knowledgable about computer problems, its great to see that!

Once in a while, especially after I leave my computer for awhile, msn will pop up a note saying that I have been signed out of NET.messenger because I have been signed in at another location. Then I click on that box to sign back in. Well there's only one of me, so how could that be??

To my recollection, this problem started appearing on my laptop while my main PC was in for repair at computer shop.

Does any body have any comments to explain this? Thanks so much in advance for your comments

PEACE

William

It seems that someone does know your address and password and is signing in on another computer. I'd suggest changing your password and see if the problem persists.

Matt,

thanks for the advice. I went in to reset the password, but my old password didn't work to get in to reset it. So I had to get in through the back door-- i.e. answer the secret question that only i would know. This worked. I reset my alternate email too.

Then I tried logging in using my new password and was blocked. So, I restarted my computer--same thing. So I sent a secure message to Microsoft through their complaint forum and am waiting for a reply.

Meanwhile, I have another question and sorry that it is off the topic, but I received a trojan virus within the last 24 hours too. So I had PC House Call do an online scan and deleted the virus. House Call scanned 26,000 files. So, just for the fun of it, rescanned using my current Norton Antivirus software and it scanned 58,000 files. So my question is...why such a difference?

PEACE

William

It depends what the virus scanner settings are. You can have them set to scan only certain types, or have it set to scan all files on the drive.
