When trying to open a cd-rom I recieve the following error:
E:\ is not accessible. Data Error (cyclic redundency check)
I have tried several CD's and receive the same error.
Any tips?
Thanks
CRC (Cylic Redundancy Check)
A CRC performs a mathematical calculation on a block of data and returns a number that represents the content and organization of that data. The idea is to have the CRC return a number that uniquely identifies the data. You can think of CRC as being the operation that generates a "fingerprint" for a block of data. The actual number, or fingerprint, that is used to identify the data is called a checksum.
So, what kind of disks are you trying...ones that you or someone burned for you? retail? CD-RW?
What are you trying to acces program or data?
What OS?
Also a dirty disk (since you said several disks, it is unlikely they all are are dirty or scratched) or dirty CD drive...in which case you will need a CD drive cleaning kit.....
