I'm curious if anyone here has both machines, and if they have a preference. I'm contemplating buying a mac just to explore both worlds. Are the differences that great? From mac owners I've heard alot of great things about their systems.

You're not likely to find any Mac fans around here. Those of us who are involved in the forums on a daily basis know and prefer the Windows PC platform type. Mac fans are often found on Mac forums, and you could probably get a good idea of what Macs are like if you just around their forums.

I myself like to keep up on all things computer-related, so I'm not totally in the dark when it comes to Macs. However, I'm not a Mac expert by any means, and no one here is, either. I will say that Macs have their strong points - they are great for artists and other types of content creation, and they are by no means slow compared to Windows machines.

I prefer Windows machines myself primarily because I like to be in control of my computer. You can't build your own Mac, or use whatever Mac OS you want, or install 3rd-party drivers, or any of that fun stuff! :p Mac users give up a lot of control to Apple in order to join the Mac club.

I've always used windows all my life since 1990. I used a mac in 1997, I hated it. That thing was old, but now I am unfortunately racist against Macs. Their designs are unique, but not my taste. They are overpriced. And they are incompatiple with much software
