I had an old cyrix 686 system running at 120 mhz which I gave to my dad. He was using it and when he went to shut it down (win98se) he touched the keyboard lockout switch. He said there was a little shock when he touched it, I'm assuming the shock is static electricity. He shutdown the machine and didn't use it until the next day. Upon booting it showed the memory and bios but then it says the "keyboard is locked". It won't boot into Windows and just hangs after the keyboard message. I'm assuming the motherboard is fried and needs a new one. Any ideas as to whether this problem can be fixed before I buy a new mboard. Thanks for your time.
