award bios v4.6 cant read toshiba cdrom

bought a first international motherboard va503+ award bios v4.6, and a toshiba ide cdrom xm series, when i boot the award bios doesnt recognize the cdrom drive, sees that there is a cdrom drive but it jumbles up the model.
anyone know if there is a patch for this from fic or award or toshiba??
