I posted a while ago about a prob i had and i so far have not sorted it.
I have a

EPOX 8KTA3 PRO
ATHLON 1000
NVIDIA GEFORCE 2 64MB
DVDROM
ACER CD REWRITTER

I just built this system two days ago, It says there is a CMOS checksum error and that i have to update my bios info because i have changed my cpu. So i do update it, and the moment i reset the computer the screen display goes all funny and i cant make out anything. Not even the boot screen. I have to take out the battery on my mainboard to reset the bios and it runs fine again. The only way i can run my comp is to skip the bios update bit by hittin f1. Whats wrong? Is it bios setting probs??

eagle2k,

What are you adjusting within the BIOS when you update?

No problem...not sure if you lost it or what, but you can go to the preferences tab and adjust it to show more than the last day or so...like five or ten....that way if it is more than a day since soemthing has been added to it, it will still show up.

Did you check to see what BIOS version you do have?

It should have the version number or date on one of the first pages in setup...

In this case don't leave settings at default.

Go on into CMOS(BIOS) and adjust your CPU parameters.

Save and exit.
