Ok, after careful consideration and lots of input from this wonderful forum, here are the final pieces for my comp that I plan on ordering this week. If anyone has any other components that they feel are just plain better and comparably priced (ie. within 5-10$) of something I have listed, please let me know. Also, when I get all the components will I have all the cables and whatnot that I will need to put this thing together, or will I need to purchase them as well. If there is anything I am forgetting (I have the case, got that yesterday, and a keyboard and mouse and other peripherals) please let me know, my wife is convinced that I am going to forget/not have some crucial piece when I finally go to build so please if there is even the smallest thing that I might need let me know. Thanks in advance . . .

I just did a build with that same case. Good value. Plenty of room. Looks great too. I have it near a doorway, and it lights up my whole hallway at night. I also like the fact you don't have to swing open the front panel to use the cd/dvd drives like on many of the newer cases that have some design on the front. The two installed fans seem to be keeping my system very cool. The side fan is intake, and the top one is exhaust.

Don't worry, you will have all the screws and such you need to install everything you have. The case alone came with all the screws and mounting hardware I needed, with some to spare. BTW, my wife had the same fears. LOL :D

All your choices look good to me, but I will leave the technical aspects to those more qualified.

Good luck.

It looks like a key lock, but its not. Just happens to be the design for the power button. Jlreich, you said the 2 fans that came with it were good? Cause I was thinking of getting an additional rear exhaust fan, but if the included ones are good enough then I'll save myself a few $$$ and skip it until later.

On the topic of things i'll need, will my drives (hard drive, dvd . . .) come with the ide and sata cables and stuff?

Your harddrive is OEM - no cables or anything. However from the links you gave, your motherboard comes with all the cables you will need, both ATA and Sata.

Well, the fans seem to keep my system cool, but it never hurts to have an extra one or two or three..... :p Your system may run hotter than mine. They are standard fans, someone else may be able to better advise you if you need more for your system.

So I think I am going to purchase an additional fan for the case, i'm looking for a 120 mm fan for the rear of the case. that leaves me with 2 fan questions, if I get a rear fan, in addition to the top and side that the case came with what directions should I have the airflow ie. how many exhaust vs intake and which fans should be which? Secondly, could someone suggest a good 120 mm fan that is reasonably priced? I don't need it to have the same led lights the case fans came with, I think 2 fan led's will be more than enough.

Also I see that my mobo does come with the cables that I need, but I am thinking of getting rounded cables because it will look cooler/increase airflow in my case. If I were to get rounded cables, what kinds would I need/how many (ide, sata . . .) And if someone could reccomend some good ones I would appreciate it.

Geesh, I keep comming up with more questions as this post goes on. One more and I'll stop for a while. Does anyone have a preference on including a floppy in my build, or maybe instead of a floppy an internal card reader/floppy?

Thanks for all the help, this forum really is a great place for a newb to learn

Newegg has hundreds of cables Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/) As for the floppy, my personal machine has both a floppy, and a card reader. I put floppies in all that I build, as they can be used for emergency boot/diagnostics.
