Can you boot into Safe Mode and uninstall Nero after this happens. Many protection errors are related to Drivers so possibly you should try updated drivers for the CD or an updated version of Nero.

Maybe have a browse through:-

There are some useful utilities buried on the Nero website. There is a tool one can use to do a "general clean" uninstall of all Nero software, or a Nero 5 and a Nero 6 clean tool and a registry and driver checker.

Try running the general clean tool to uninstall and remove registry entries : http://www.nero.com/en/General_Clean_Tool.html

Then run the driver checker. It will scan your system for drivers that conflict with Nero and offer you the option to disable. If it finds any, you can post back what they are to receive advice: http://www.nero.com/en/Driver_Clean_Tool_and_RegistryChecker.html

Heheh, yes, it really is me Whyzman. At least I think it is. In limbo for a few days, and what better way to pass some time than spending it on my favourite website.

I also figured these tools might be helpful to others. May not be the solution for NitroGate, but considering the title of the thread, others may stumble across it on a search and find the tools of some assistance.

Funny how difficult it seems to get assistance with Nero problems. A great piece of software in my opinion. Many get frustrated by the seeming paucity of Help files with Nero. However, there are also quite extensive user guides (pdf) available for each application in the Nero suite which one can download (in many languages): http://www.nero.com/en/User_Guides.html

but this problem come after i changed my hard disk.I see in your explanation that you formatted and reinstalled Windows...at what point did you change your hard disk?

malcore, always good to see your name attached to a thread! ;) Limbo?? Is that a city somewhere in Japan?? :)

Thanks for the additional heads-up on the Nero Guide! I've installed Nero on the kid's computer but have not used it yet...ah, what potential problems await has me drooling already...

Paucity...As a lover of words...there are few I love more!
