Hi,

I am thinking about installing Windows Media Center Edition as I would like to watch TV, edit video and do all that stuff. But while browing various dicusion boards I've got an impression that Windows Media Center Edition is more vulnerable, crushes more often and it is a hassle to deal with. Is it correct or not?

Thanks.

I recently installed MCE05 and have to say that I pretty much love it. As far as vulnerabilities go, if you're behind a decent router or have a personal firewall installed, does it really matter if the OS isn't as secure as it could be?

The interface is fine-tuned to work well with standard tvs (I'm using the s-vid input to my 36in CRT) and TV looks good. I also have a TiVo, but I like the fact that I have everything I regularly use all in one box. I have had zero crashes and the interface is very intuitive.

One note to this... I am having dvd playback issues through the MC player, but if I play them through another app(like WinDVD or WMP) it looks as good as my standalone dvd player did... It is an annoyance I am trying to end, but willing to stick it out as I am thoroughly impressed with the rest of it.
