OK, I have a W2K Celeron 1.6 gHz, 700+ RAM, 70 gB HD, a a Gigabyte 845E MB. Ever since I tried to read /listen to the on-disc tutorial after installing a Plextor CD/DVD burner I have been getting blue screens. Usually the message includes IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and ....address 804311EC bas at 804 00 000......ntoskrnl.exe.
Looking at Event Viewer after the BSOD, I read under "save dump" , The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. 0x0000000a (0x00000016,0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x804314c9), MS Windows 2000[v15.2195]. Dump was saved....
At first errors were being logged, particularly when I was viewing a lot of JPEG files on screen, and using Kodak EasyShare software. After I got rid of the Kodak software, I can reproduce this BSOD by playing a music CD in either of my CD drives (newer CD/DVD has been uninstalled/removed).
After reading Entoman's saga, I replaced the CPU heat sink/fan. No improvement.
Lately, I cannot downoad files (eg., the MEM test utilities that have been mentioned) nor open PDF files that are attached to emails (this is a recent downer).
After this all began I added some RAM and have tried removing the old RAM and/or removing the new RAM. No change in BSOD frequency.
Suggestions?
