If you're not convinced about a TV tuner card, why not consider a 'stand-alone' tuner with USB connections?

USB tv tuners are not very good quality, i would not recommend it. Buy a PCI tuner from Hauppauge (either pvr-150 if you want a single tuner or the pvr-500 if you want dual tuners) you can move them between computers very easily. personally, i would recommend pcalchemy.com to buy them, as they have unbeatable service.
