Newly built system. At bootup it says the regular stuff, Device Listing, Verifying DMI Pool Data, then a line that says "Boot from CD:" (with no quotations), which I know read this when I installed XP and had the cd in at first bootup. Everything operates fine, but I don't see this message on any other systems except when I first install XP and have the CD in the drive. Can I get rid of the message? Does it matter that it says it? It only says it for a second, but since no other system says it, I wonder why it does. Thanks.

In your Bios.
Check the boot device list and boot order

If you disable the boot from cd or remove the cd drives from the list
The message will not display..

It does not hurt anything to leave the boot from cd in your boot order.
unless you think it is slowing down your system bootup

Thanks. How simple! Wonder why I've never run into this before?
