Seriously, :( I am using dual boot....How can I become single again? like before ?
What can I change in my boot.ini so I can be a real single ? Thanks for help and sorry for newbie's question...
How many Operating systems do you have installed ? and what are they ?
What do you want to keep on the system ?
winxp? win98 ? win2k ? Linux ?
we need more info before we can help.

I want only XP to be left over, I presently have Linux installed, but don't know what to change in the boot.ini file to destroy it.

The boot.ini file should look like this
[boot loader]
timeout=30
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW S
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect /NoExecute=OptIn
Do you have some form of boot manager such as LILO or GRUB installed?

Exactly like what you posted, I also have LILO. Thanks
If you have Lilo installed and it loads first.
You must remove or disable it first ..
Do you intend to remove Linux ?
If so .. do that after you remove lilo ..
