Everytime I hibernate or turn off my computer, there is always a message
"Now it is safe to turn off your computer"

But Some people finds that this is really kind of an anoyance...I don't know about Windows insides much, I dont know...
Some people I know tell me that it is good because it checks your system before it can sleep well. Others say it means nothing but they dont tell me how to get rid of that message, I guess they think its my duty to clean up the message...Even when leaving it there or unchecking some option to turn it off, I find it clearly only a way of teasing the system mechanism to get the best out of it on one way and to help gain more space and system stability for many later storage on the other...In all way, its good for my own system only! However I unfortunately don't know how to uncheck what option to turn off that message...I am wondering if anyone of gurus here would be able to offer any help...I tried to check "system" in Control panel already but still dont know where it is...

I appreciate your help..

Please ask me also, if that helps ? only want to rate your big help..--lol

That's a normal Windows system message letting you know it is safe to turn the computer off. During shutdown WIndows has a lot to do...shut down any running programs, shut down all running processes, try and save anything that hasn't been saved yet, and a lot more. It is not safe to turn off he computer until all this has been done and the hard drive is no longer being accessed. DOS could be turned off any time, it didn't have a long list of processes running in the background, Windows changed all that.

With a newer ATX system (motherboard form factor and power supply type) Windows should shut down without that message, or it will blink and shut off. If it stays on, it's not a major problem, just an annoyance.Hold the power button down for 5 seconds and it should turn off. If yours is an AT system, that message is normal and you will have to turn the power switch off.

It's not necessary to always put a reason for editing your posts in the field provided in the edit window, that's a convenience rather than a necessity. It's veryhandy if one wants to have something posted there, and for moderators those few occasions we have to edit a member's post, which we avoid if at all possible, but it's not required just so you'll know.

Oh, almost forgot, according to your IP addresses you have been using two user names, this one and Jim McCoy. Pick one and keep it, quit using the other one. If I see them both posting comments in another thread I will ban you immediately as a troublemaker. If you don't pick one or the other, I'll decide for you and ban them both.
