Hi all!
:)

Happy new year and all that.

I am trying to download the complete 78MB or so of IE6, so that I can transfer it via my USB stick, to a friend's PC running 98SE and a dial-up modem.

I thought I would save him some time, and download the big install file, transfer it via the RAM stick, and install it locally on his machine.

But, every time I try to download from MS, all I get is a 480k .exe file, which tries to download all the various bit and pieces of IE6 from the MS download site.

This is totally hopeless at 2.2k/sec, so is there A link directly to the download of the installation file for IE6???

Tried going to MS site, and downloading the package for network diffusion, but this is only 2.5MB, and it too keeps trying to download the rest from the MS site.

IE5.5 came as a 70MB(or so) download file, which you could run setup.exe, and away you go.

I don't like this new method of MS, as it forces you to wait an eternity for the updates( or the complete package in my case), if you are still on dial-up...

Can anyone shed some light on things here?

Thanks!

MM.
