I have xp pro on my work machine, and my boss told me that since I do some work from home, I'm allowed to use it in my new build which i'm doing on Tuesday. My question is, am I going to be able to activate my work copy on my home machine, or is Microsoft gonna decline my activation?
That depends on what type of copy you have.
If it is a corporate disk allowing multiple installs
Or a single install copy..
It will allow you to install and activate
But may require you to call for the code to type in.
Even on a reinstall Win XP pro has forced me to call for the activation code number

It is a single install copy, I thought I read somewhere that you can install and activate it on 2 computers, then you are SOL, is this right or BS?

From your first post it sounds like you have a XP Pro Corporate edition with a corporate multi-PC license. I would ask your boss how the licensing is done for the new build.
