My guess would be that you won't be able to find Windows 3.1 anywhere for download, legally anyway. Your best hope would be to search ebay.

Nope, if it's online for download, it's illegal. I tried to find it a long time ago to replace a corrupted disk, 3 weeks of searching turned up zilch.

I've found a couple of copies at resale shops and garage sales, one new in the box at a computer shop, but these days win3.x is getting pretty scarce...

Oh, and you also have to install it on top of DOS, it won't run by itself, in case you aren't aware of it. I'd have to go look it up again, but I think it requires either DOS 4 or 5, but possibly 3.3. My favorite is DOS 6.22.

I just bought one on ebay for about $15, there was more than one available so you should be able to get one from somebody.

It came on a 6-floppy set where the first disk was DOS 5.0. I had a set, but some bozo in history past decided to reformat my floppies, so I have these nice conversation pieces (as they have the original case and labels, just nothing on the disks).

Floppies do loose data but it would be pretty obvious. Maybe they lost their data and someone re-formatted for re-use and nevergot arpound to it. It begs the question of how probable it is that any floppies you buy will be usable - you need a set after all. One bad apple - as it were. I am sure I have copies - but I haven't checked lately to see if they are readable
