Computer shows new DVD-rom and existing CD-RW correctly under Device Manager settings but not in 'My Computer' (description is switched around - shows my PC-DVD is CD-RW and my CD-RW as a PC-DVD drive). Have deleted both and rebooted computer and also change BIOS to auto(detect) for Secondary slave (existing CD-RW was master on secondary IDE cable but had to change it's jumper to slave upon installation of DVD).
Any thoughts on how to correct this problem would be appreciated.

When you changed the jumper, did you also change the position on the cable. You have to use the scondary connection on the exisiting drive in order for it to work.
Re-check the jumpers and the cable position on both drives.

Thanks for responding so quick Classicsoftware.
Yes, both devices are properly installed on the secondary cable. I guess worse comes to worse, I can always try switching jumpers to make DVD the slave and CD-RW the master. I'm just thinking maybe there's a default configeration somewhere (registry?) that puter is picking up for "my computer' screen.
Did you do the deletions in Safe Mode?
If not try doing them there....
