Bad Gateway?

My brother is having difficulty getting into website's, he keeps getting the message;

'Bad gateway'

He's using Freeserve as his internet server.

Any help would be appreciated, it's driving him bonkers http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

is there a number associated with the error? Could be a proxy setting or the server?
