I just received a new p4 1.7g computer loaded with win98se. I connected the mouse, keyboard, monitor. I turned it on and it would not complete a p o s t. No beebs. cpu fan comes on, power light comes on nothing else. Checked all cables and pci expansion boards for tightness. Any suggestions?

Where'd you get the pc from, could be a DOA. I would take the motherboard out and put a cardboard box under it, try that and see if will boot, If it does then a screw is grounding it out. Also disconnect all drives i.e. hardrive, floppy, cdrom and try to boot it up. If it boots then something is grounding out wrong.
