I have a ASUS A7N8X mobo and when I boot up the sequence goes through a SATA & SCSI search [ I dont have either connected] Can I eliminate this portion of the boot sequence---I tried to locate a shut off in the bios to no avail----can I disable both in device manager in the "SCSI and RAID controllers" line ????

Thanks

Disabling them in device manager won't do any good, as the boot sequence is set in BIOS.
What options have you got there?

It makes sense it has to be in the BIOS I just cant seem to find a location to disable it. Could be it has to be the way it is and thats it ?????

Search for the part that sets BOOT FIRST/ORDER/PREFERENCE. This can normally be found in the second selection down in the list of choices (though each BIOS is different) Set this to HDD as first boot (or floppy if you prefer)

Have just did a search for the manual for your board. Go Here and select the correct one and then print it out for further use.

If you are no sure as to exactly which is yours down load a couple and boot into the BIOS and do a visual comparison with the printed out manual.

Well I think I found the way to get the "raid" & "SCSI" boot up out of the boot sequence----- on the mobo there is a jumper called SATA_EN1 if I disable this " Serial ATA Setting" that should get ot out of the boot up ---
Does this sound proper to do ???

Thanks

I disabled the SATA/ SCSI jumper on the mobo and
that did the trick all is well .

Thanks for the help.
