View Full Version : Motherboard Problems Whats Going On?

ok here is the problem i have msi motherboard 865PE Neo2-V
i was trying to update my bios using their software live update or something that software runs under windows enviroment
well while updating it my cpu just froze so i had to restart it.anyway after i did that
i got blank screen cant even "enter" the bios setup or do anything
i tried to clear the cmos memory using the jumper on the motherboard and also by taking the battery off nothing works...

please help!

If the system was erset in the middle of a BIOS update then it's quite possible the BIOS was corrupted, and the board no longer capable of booting.

If the BIOS chip is removable rather than soldered on to the board, it may be possible to have it reflashed, or replaced, but without a working BIOS the board won't do anything.

so what do you mean i have to find some kind of chip on my motherboard and take it of?

and also how do you reflash bios ? if nothing works?

The BIOS on the motherboard is the basic operating instructions for the computer and to run the hardware, without it, nothing will work. I doubt that you'll be able to find the chip if you don't know a lot about the board. You may want to take it to a computer repair shop or get someone you know to help you.

One last thing to try - remove the memory chips and video card from the system and then reset the BIOS jumper to "clear again. if you can "beep" out of it, put the memory and video card back in and try to boot.

I've seen "otherwise" dead boards come back to life when powered up with no chips are cards..... don't know why.....
