Hi all.
I want to uninstall XP SP2.
Is there any way this can be done without having to completely re-install XP?
SP2 is causing me some issues, primarily with my new Pinnacle video capture card and Studio 9 software.
Any comments welcomed.
Thanks!
:)

You can uninstall it from add/remove programs. :)

No I can't...
:(
It does not show up at all - either as seperate hotfixes, or as something simple like Microsoft Windows XP SP2, or something like that.
All the other programs are listed there, but not SP2.
I also tried clicking on windows components button in contro panel/add remove programs, but these are just standard components such as the card games, etc.
My copy of XP came with SP2 on it - it says on the XP CD that SP2 is included. Also, under control panel/system, it annnounces that SP2 is installed.
Perhaps you can't get rid of these versions?

Have you tried showing all files? (Tools/Folder Options/View
Also whilst in there deslect (take tick out)
"Hide Protected Operating System Files" to see if this willshow you the SP2 install files.
Remeber to put the tick back in the box for this when you have finished

If your WinXP CD is the latest version, with SP2, then there is no way of uninstalling it. There is no previous version to go back to.

If you installed it yourself then you should have been given the option of being able to roll back or not - though I woudn't have counted on a roll back being successful.

This article provides information but it still may not work since as was pointed out the SP2 came pre-installed:
