I have an Asus a7n8x motherboard with a new AMD XP2400 CPU. It wont boot. All I get is the CPU fan spinning and the HDD Led comes on and thats all. No beeps, no display.

I am also using the following

350 w power
Radeon 9250 vga card
1 x 512 ram.

Also my case does not have an inbuilt speaker. I got one with the motherboard but it only has two wires and there is 4 pins on the board for it??

I have tried booting with only ram and the vga card, everything is plugged in correctly, I've tried moving jumpers and clearing the CMOS but nothing makes it boot up. Can anyone help???

Was the mobo working before? You mentioned that the CPU is new, but is the mobo also new? If the mobo was working before you added the new CPU, then you have your answer. RMA that AthlonXP.

:) Problem solved. The case had a faulty reset switch which was stuck in the on position.

Well, that's an odd problem. Glad you got it fixed, though! I bet that was really hard to track down! :p
