Hi, aplogises if this is under wrong subject folder.

Running win98se and using patition magic 5.0 created an extra partition of equal size ( half of 20gb hd) new partition made to NTFS.

Partition went through motions and rebooted. Now after initial system check is blank with flasing cursor. I have started up with win98 startup disk and partitions are there under FDISK with my original FAT32 being active. However neither 2 partitions have a drive letter and my system only recognises a: in dos. As partitions are there how can i boot ?

I have not made any of the rescue disks etc or boot magic http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/frown.gif

It may seem like at stupid question, but I'm assuming that the initial C: drive has the O.S. loaded, right? Booting to a Win98 System Disk, you will not be able to see the D: drive, because it is NTFS, and Windows 98 will not recognize it, but your C: drive should have a drive letter if it was formatted. And if it had an OS on it to begin with.

I would think that maybe the MBR got damaged. Go to the A: prompt and type FDISK /MBR.
