a technician and a programmer, which one gives better better salary ?
Have you ever worked as a technical support for a cable company before ? What satisfies you most or least ? Plz.tell.me because I.DON'T.KNOW.SIR.MDAM :p

im not sure but it totally depends on the company but i heard technician gives a better salary especially in a cable company since you will be most liklley working with hardware. plus i never heard of a cable company that needs programmers...i mean what do you need to program if your workin in a cable company?

I don't know why you're so angry IAGM, but if you don't have a lot of patience, perhaps a technician in customer service for a cable company is not the best choice of employment for you.

An average technician isn't going to earn a great deal, until they progress further up the ladder (CCNA etc etc) - then the money can start to go up. Get to your CCIE, CISSP etc and you can print your own money :D

Programming seems to offer good money if you're in the right field. the easiest thing to do is to do a search for jobs online - try computerpeople or elan IT to give you some idea. Bear in mind that if you want to go into programming, you need to look at whether you're going to use software that is compatible with multiple systems, or specific systems (.net = M$)
