Like the title said, I just built a computer and when I go to turn it on the lights flash quickly and it doesn't start. If I press the power button again nothing happans. But if I unplug everything and plug it back in again I get the same result, a quick flash and no power. I build computers for a living and I have never encountered this problem before. I tried everything. I switched the power supply, I tried two different towers, I tried using a different motherboard, and I tried switching the ram. Nothing seems to work and I am out of ideas and this is driving me crazy. Someone please help!

So, does that just leave the CPU??
If you swapped out the motherboard you "essentially" tried a new computer...
My suggestion would be to barebones the system (which ever motherboard you decide you want to use) on a non-conductive surface...that is only CPU/fan/sink, RAM, video, & monitor and see if you make it through POST

I replaced the spacers between the motherboard and the tower and everything works fine. I heard about someone eose trying that on another site and it worked for me as well. Thanks alot for your time.

Thanks for letting us know how you fixed the problem...the barebones on a non-conductive surface seeks to eliminate the possiblity of the motherboard shorting to the case...
Glad you're up and running! :)
