An interesting anti-spam story here (http://dailynews.yahoo.com/h/cn/20020104/tc/appeals_court_upholds_anti-spam_law_1.html) seems like Ca has anti-spam law that is OK...according to an Appeals Court.....

Just read a little bit on the site about 'CAUCE' perhaps we need to advertise & show our voice, (to the top) perhaps some of you will come in with the best way to show support, & who to do it with.

Vic: I Don't entirely understand your post, but if you're looking for info on dealing with spam, here it is:
UXN Spam Combat (http://combat.uxn.com/) has a great page of links to locate IP addresses, domain names etc.
D-Shield (http://www.dshield.org/ipinfo.php?ip=155.251.246.70&Submit=Submit) is another excellent lookup utility.
Abuse.net (http://spam.abuse.net/howtocomplain.html) has a good tutorial on how to read headers and complain to the originating ISP.
Reading Email Headers (http://www.uic.edu/depts/accc/newsletter/adn29/headers.html) might help figure out where it came from.
Stop Unsolicited Commercial Email Advertisements (http://v) is good reading.
SpamL FAQ (http://www.claws-and-paws.com/spam-l/) is also a good site with answers to a lot of questions
Once you have located the ISP it came from, the Abuse.net Contact Database (http://www.abuse.net/lookup.phtml) often lists the abuse@ address to send spam complaints to.
Another interesting thing I have located is this page posted by the Federal Trade Commission (http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2001/04/spam.htm) indicating that they want consumers to send them their spam mail so they can inform the government regarding how widespread the problem of unsolicited commercial email (UCE) is. They do not investigate each one, but they may investigate obvious scams. I put their email address in my contact list and send a copy to them by Cc with each complaint to the originating ISP.
When complaining to an ISP about UCE please make sure you are not rude or vulgar. These are not the people who sent it, they only provide their Internet connection, and most are VERY busy. They dislike spam as much as you do (usually) and will be more inclined to pay attention to your complaint if it is simple, short and professionally composed.
A simple note such as this:
I received this unsolicited commercial email (UCE) from a user on your system. Please deal with this individual in accordance with your TOS/AUP.
Thank you.
Should suffice. Mine is a bit longer, including short commants stating that I did not subscribe to the mailing list and do not do business with spammers, but still short, professional and NOT abusive, hateful, accusatory or vulgar. I copied it into a notepad file so I can copy it into each complaint rather than having to type it every time. This is very helpful when you get 5-30 spam messages per day.
I sometimes do make exceptions for ISPs that send lots of spam...
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the links Pete,
All I was trying to say in my post, is that there are probably plenty of anti spam orgs. out there, and I was looking for the experience of some of the folks here to point us in ONE direction, so that we can all deal with one (hopefully the best) anti spam org.
----------------------------------
NOTE:
I do not get much spam on my home account but I do get a lot on hotmail, this is because I give out my hotmail account liberally (eg: when asked for by sites where I am getting free d/l or whatever) therefore I can go to it about once a month & delete everything without reading it, knowing that I'm not losing anything of enormous importance, whilst my home e-mail (which I only give to people I trust & respect) stays relatively clear.

Excellant postings here, and a good subject.
On the Subject of spam emails; unless i absolutely have to receive somethig from the site that asks for an email address, i give them a false one-ie; Nunya@noemail.com or something to that effect. As long as the fake email addy is in the correct format ( like ending in .com, or .net ) the database will recognize and accept it. Great for cutting down on unwanted solicitations. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif regardless of the site's privacy standards.

Vic: Hotmail is a spam magnet. Two days after opening a hotmail account, and without giving it to anyone, I had at least 30 spam emails ranging from home loan offers to every manner of porn you could ever wish to see...I haven't bothered to check it in probably a year, nobody I know has the address anyway.
I also usually post a bogus email address on the rare occasions I give any website info, but here it was not only required that I have a working email address, but in my better interest as well. Unfortunately every email sniffer in the known universe has apparently found it... http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/eek.gif
