Hi
My computer (XP Pro SP2) keeps freezing in random situations. I'll try to explain it detail as far as possible.
Yesterday I was away from my computer for a while leaving it on but my monitor off, when I returned the moniter displayed it was getting no signal so I rebooted manually with the on/off button. When booting everything went fine, I began defragmenting my OS partition (with Diskeeper 8.0 Pro) and in the middle of the process the computer froze, my keyboard and mouse didn't work anymore and the load LED was fully shining, not flickering, but without any sound (these things happen always when my computer freezes).
I again rebooted and couldn't always get XP to load, these are all things happening in my various attempts on booting my computer(don't remember the exact order, but these events happen randomly).:
1) The logo of my motherboard (HP Invent, version unknown to me) appears, but my computer freezes so it doesn't load XP, I can't enter the setup or even perform an ctrl+alt+del reboot.
2) The logo of my mobo appears, responds to my request for entering the setup, but then freezes, the rest the same as above.
3) The logo of my mobo appears, I'm able to enter the setup, everything seems fine in there, but when I exit it still doesn't load XP.
4) I wait for the mobo logo to vanish, the bootlogo of XP appears but then freezes.
5) Moves on from mobo logo, but then asks me to insert a system disk. I reboot, enter setup and find both master and slave HD are not being recognized, manually let CMOS detect them, no results. I exit and reboot again. After rebooting XP loads again but freezes on bootlogo screen.
6) Loads XP but freezes on desktop.
7) The computer freezes in any possible situation and performs a reboot automaticly in about a minute.
8) Same as 5, but only the slave HD is recognized.
9) Everything loads fine, I am browsing a website for about an half hour and suddenly the computer freezes.
10) Everything loads fine, I'm playing Fifa online and get to play one match, when I return to the lobby where players meet, the computer freezes.
Now, when I tried to write this the first time (in this forum, currently notepad, saving my progress in about every line I type lol) the computer froze , I waited for about 5 minutes and then a blue screen with a warning pops up, I saw the computer was performing something so I watched through this message rapidly and noticed a technical ID to the problem was given. Rushing in finding a pen and paper I only got to write down the first part of it. Too bad I don't remember anything else that was on it.
I hope this will be enough for any of you to recognize and somehow research it:
*** STOP = 0x000000F4 (0x00000003, 0x83A7A398, then it rebooted, but before the ")" closed there were 2 more lines of alfanumeric code.
Probably dumb, but I don't have system recovery enabled or make images. I'm just hoping to fix this without having to reformat my drive and install everything over again, since the last time was around 2 weeks ago.
I'm sorry if I didn't provide enough detail in any way, ask if you need it.
Thanks for reading and any help is appreciated.
