I have this friend whos computer pops up a dialog box on startup (and some other times which I do not remember). The dialog box says something to the effect of:

Regenv32 caused an error in module blah blah
and will close now
It is recommended that you restart your machine blah blah

At this time the Cordless Logitech Mouse was not working which had been working before and also replaced the batteries after found out it didnt work. The batteries had no effect.

All of this happened after someone had installed an MS-DOS based game called P.O.T. (I think.)

I reinstalled the mouse drivers and stuff like that. That's not really what I'm worried about though as much as the Regenv32 error. If someone could enlighten me please and SOON! I would be forever greatful!!

Thanks in advanced,
-Joe

Regenv32 is one of the programs/files modified when the real-mode DOS patch is applied to ME ...did he apply that patch?

If so it may have corrupted the program to the point that it is now causing errors....

Or if the DOS game was installed and it added lines to the autoexec or config.sys files the may be a conflict....

Would the patch be known as an "update"? After the error had occurred I rebooted again and it came up again and so did a dialog box with some update thing. I dont really have any detailed info on the update or anything like that.

I have the same problem on my ME system. I did do the patch, but I still get the message whenever I shutdown. MJC explained the problem, but not specifically how to fix it. Should I restore the regenv32 program from the ME installation disk, or should I be making changes in the autoexec.bat or config.sys files? If so, what changes should be made? Thanks for any help!
