Help me, please!
System halted after flashing the BIOS!!
I am using the QDI Synactix 1EP mainboard.
The following are the steps I took:
1) awd803 /pn/sy, to backup the bios, using the name "qdi.bin"
2) Download the BIOS file(618asr01.bin from www.jetway.com.tw) (http://www.jetway.com.tw)) with the "Recovery Genius" function, which is developed by Goldensoft(www.goldensoft.com.tw);
3) cbrom 618asr01.bin /isa extract
4) cbrom qdi.bin /isa stdp.dat
5) awd803 qdi.bin /py/sn/cc/cd/cp/sb/r
After the rebooting, the misadventure began!
The computer can pass the "POST", but then "Verifying DMI DATA POOL" message appeared on the screen. Sometimes it read "Update Success", often not. But the result is the same: the system halted!
I wanted to use the floppy drive to flash the BIOS back, but it is impossible to do this!!
The floppy drive is also unusable!
I did try the following, but all failed:
1) use the "jcc"jumper to clear the cmos;
2) replace the hd with another one which works normally on another computer;
3) take off all the appendent cards/drives, eg Sound, Lan, hd, even the floppy drive!
What a terrible thing!
