Runtime error

My son just called me and said that every now and then a message will pop saying,"Runtime Error! Program c:\program files\Internet Explorer\Explorer.exe has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information." He isn't running IE, he uses FireFox. His OS is XP Home. He said if he clicks "OK", the message goes away and everything runs fine.

Sounds rather like a malware problem, if the filename is given correctly.
Internet Explorer is iexplore.exe. Explorer.exe is the windows shell, and should be in \windows\ folder.
I think a hijack this log is called for.

My mistake, David. The name of the file is iexplore.exe.
