I am having problems with my BIOS. When cut the power to the computer, by turning off the APC, everythings fine. However when i go to cut on the APC my computer automatically starts to boot up for about 4 sec then shuts off, the power button on the front of the computer is in the off position. So i turn the computer on and my BIOS has been cleared and i get a "CMOS Checksum Error - Defaults Loaded" message. I do this anytime i want to get on my computer with decent settings. I have checked the CMOS
jumpers, its right, and have tried replacing the CMOS battery (CR2032) and the Power Supply (CompUSA500W>Antec400W). I'm open for any suggestions.

Thank You,
Chris

The problem could also be caused by a virus, defective motherboard, or defective power supply module.
Update your antivirus program's files and check for a virus.
If that's ok, then check the PSM or have a shop test it.
The only way to check the MB is to swap it out.

thanx, i have yet to try a virus scan, but i havent really been in a situation for a virus, worth a shot. It's not the power supply i know for sure. I'm going with something wrong with the motherboard.
