Hi there
I have a pc i have reloaded with Windows 98 SE.
As soon as it comes to finalizing system settings i select the country and thereafter the pc continues and then Blue Screen's.
Reboot pc comes back to that same area for the select country and if i select country and say ok bang same problem
I have added more memory and it still does the same problem.
Whats funny is that this PC had Windows98 before and it worked fine.
Deceied to reload as some files were missing.
WHATS THE SOLUTION?
Thanks in advance.

What files were missing?
Did you re-format before reinstalling?
Did you zero fill the drive?
Need a whole lot more info.
I think the problem that caused you to re-format was NOT solved and is still plaguing you...

When you say "reloaded", you mean re-installed right?
You've said that you added more RAM to the system, for the time being, plzz remove the old RAM module and use only the new one. And see if the install completes.
The best way would be to make copies of your data eg My Documents, Favorites, other files at Desktop etc to another safe location, probably another partition, and format and the clean install. Now that your are stuck with a screwed install that wouldn't let you finish, the only way you can copy your data from the system partition would be either using dos-based file managers from a boot floppy or using that hard disk in another system.
"Finalizing system settings", hmm! How did you started the re-install? From within windows or you started it by booting to DOS mode(or even from a bootable floppy)? If you started from within windows, plzz try to boot to safe mode. Hit F8 before windows logo appears and then choose safe mode. Do the copy thing(all the essential data) from your system partition to another partition from safe mode. And then you can format and re-install.
If a format and re-install also gives problem, then you may have to use the approach of removing all the "not-required to atleast boot" hardware and then trying a install and then adding those hardwares step by step one at a time so as to isolate the culprit.
