Hi

Can anyone tell a meer mortal like myself what this means.

I am running a 450 AMD k6 with Win98SE which I have upgraded the memory to 288 meg. I have Norton2002 and it tells me in the system info that my memory is only 46% utilised.

Usually Utilisation of memory, is main memory (Ram).
This in other words means "memory commited". the amount of memory that is being utilized by programs running.

Im sure the more advanced here would shed more light!

The less programs (especially running in the background)you have the less of the memory that will be eaten up.
