I am running W2K3 Server and a Windows Pro client. I have setup my DHCP server with all of the proper settings, and my client is receiving its IP address. I have also setup Terminal Services as well. I finally figured out how to get that working. So, I moved on to setting up my DNS server. Everything, I think, was setup correctly, but still couldn't access the internet. My server box has an onboard network adapter which is connected to my D-Link router, which is connected to my cable modem. I can access the Internet fine on my server. My server also has a Lynksys NIC which connects to a hub, which is attached to the Win Pro client. The NIC is setup with a static IP, and the onboard connection is automatic because it receives its IP from the D-Link router. Like I said, my client is receiving an IP from my W2K3 server, and before I tried setting up the DNS server I was able to access the Terminal Server from the Win Pro client. Ever since I tried setting up the DNS server, I am unable to ping my client from the Server and unable to ping the Server from my client. I have removed all server roles and added the DHCP and Terminal Server roles, but not the DNS server role. I have looked at, and changed, a variety of settings trying to make it so I can ping each of the machines. I am not having any luck. As mentioned, the client is receiving an IP from the W2K3 DHCP Server and showing me the DHCP Server address, which is the one that is that is static on the Server. All of that stuff is setup just as it was before. I think I have changed something somewhere when trying to get my client to access the Internet throught the hub and then through my server which is also attached to the D-Link router. Can anyone tell me a hiddent setting or one that I may be overlooking that will allow me to at least ping the client and the server from one another. Then I could use Terminal Services again, then maybe try to configure the DNS server role again. I did read somewhere that a DNS server role and Terminal Services role on the same machine may cause problems. I am thinking that something has been changed in the process of me trying to figure out how to access the Internet from the client, and I just can't seem to find the problem and get the server and client to ping each other again. Please help me!!!!
