During a normal POST at boot there is usually a single beep.
When this beep does not occur the Iiyama monitor displays it's own image consisting of some coloured bars and the boot appears to proceed but of course there is no way of knowing whether the boot is otherwise normal.
I then switch off, pause and swith back on. At the second boot the monitor reports that there is no signal. It can take 15 of these before the significant "beep" occurs and boot is then normal and successful.
I am now leaving the PC permanently switched on.
It seems as though there is no problem with the motherboard/video card/cable and I am wondering if the problem is with the detection of the presence of the monitor during POST.
