I have each one of these on my desk and I can't get the CDX to boot up at all with Floppy or CD and the Bios won't display either. The CDT will play for awile but try to install win98 it freezes up after 30 minutes and installed HDD with OS and it freezes also. The fans are working if I put power to them, I don't feel any excess heat. Sometimes to restart CDT I have to remove the battery and HDD then start again. The CDX will not lite up the "A" at all. Oh well, Strange creatures these Toshibas!
I've worked on IBM,Compaq and Dell but these are somethin else! Anybody got any ideas???
Thanks;
Gypsy

The CDX could have anything from a bad power adaptor, bad power connections on the mobo, to a bad motherboard. Start with testing the adaptor and work your way in.

The CDT may have faulty ram, heat problem or motherboard/componant going bad. Start with testing the ram. I like memtest myself.
