OEM and Crashes

I've just bought a new pc without an operating system. If I buy windows XP as an OEM, and the software needs to be re-installed (eg if the c crashes) is this possible?

Yes you will be able to reinstall it. Microsoft allows so many activations per copy, then you have to call in to get the activation number once you have reached the max allowed activations. But it is only time spent if you have to call in, they will usually give you the activation number without much problem.

If you buy a copy of Windows XP OEM edition you should get a CD and Key. So reinstallation should be no problem. Be sure to buy from a reputable vendor.

These versions of Windows require a purchase of hardware at the same time to be sold legaly.
