Free up Memory??? [Archive] - The PC Guide Discussion Forums

Hi,
I have recently installed two programs namely,Turbomemory and MemOptimizer,both serving the purpose of freeing up ram and optimize memory.I would like to know whether I can run both programs at the same time?Will they crash?or will they both make your computer run faster?Pls give your advice.I'm running winXP opertating sys.Thk you!!!

Welcome to the PC Guide Forums!

The programs you mention were created to deal with memory leaks with the Windows 9x type OS, but Windows XP handles memory much better than those earlier OS's and I never found them worth the hassle. I would not have even one, not two.
What really does work with XP is adding more RAM. Do you have a problem adding RAM due to your hardware limitations?

erichan, if you're using 2000/xp or above you don't need such third party memory managers. memory management on those oses are efficient.

Well, if you still want to use it, its better you use only one, ofcourse for no reason.
