Sorry guys if this is not suppose to be in this segment. I have read in some occassions where by some of the advices are to put paper washers beneath the mobo. I too have tried it and it works. But I do not understand one thing is that I thought it is delibrate on the part of the design to have the screw holes coated with solder to act as earth?? Pls correct me if I am wrong. Been puzzle with this FAR TOO LONG. http://www.PCGuide.com/ubb/smile.gif

The holes in the motherboard that have metal plating DO NOT need to be insulated. In fact, those holes are metal plated to provide contact between the motherboard and ground on the PC's case.Every other hole uses plastic stand offs the paper washers are basically for not letting the screw dig into the board but if supplyied use them it does not hurt

I was told by my local pc tech guy that in the old days, manufacturers were less than careful when it came time to run the electrical traces on the boards, ofentimes running too close to a screw hole.

Check both sides of your motherboard. If there are no traces right next to the holes, then you don't need the washers.
