Windows XP files???

Hi,
I recently found two files in 'My Documents',namely windowsxp-KB82398..&windowsxp-KB83573..I would like to know what files are they,why&how they are created.Am i allowed to delete them from my PC.Will it cause any harm to my PC?Pls Advice!THANK YOU!!!

KB files are usually Windows Update patches.

PrntRhd is of course correct. The "KB" is M$'s prefix for "Knowlege Base". The puzzling part is that they do not usually go into the My Documents directory ... possibly that could be a text/html or some other file type associated with the patch.

I don't have my XP box up right now but I'll look later. I do not expect to find any KB files in there though and that PC has every patch available.
