I have a real junker PC in the shop. It has (hold the laughter) an inwin 180 watt power supply. The problem is, the people who own this are not well off and I want to keep the cost as low as possible. The problem is getting a power supply to fit into the case.

The dimensions of the current ps are:

Width: 5.9"
Depth: 5.5"
Height: 3.4"

It as an ATX connection

Does anyone know ehere I can track down a poer supply that will fit. I know I can get a new case & power supply, but that is more labor intensive than swapping a power supply in and out.

Any ideas.....

Are you referring to an ATX Mini Power Supply? If so, I happen to have one here laying around that I will send you for the price of the postage (from Germany, though).

Can you give us a part number to be able to cross-reference?

Also, every measurement I saw when searching was metric...:(

Model #: IPS-1806VC-60

Max Output Power: 180W +3.3V & +5V = 125W(Max) +3.3V & +5V & +12V = 169W(Max)

Anyway, here is the info from the label of the PS I have sitting here. I don't know if it's the one you're looking for, though.

Manufacturer: Newton Power Ltd.
Model: DPS-111AB B REV:01
AC INPUT: 100-127V ~/3.5A.

145W Max. Peak Main Output Power (!0 sec.)
110W Max. Continuous Main Output Power
Max. Combined Output Power 70W for +3.3V and +5V
Aux Output: +5VAUX ---/ 1.0A

And it definitely has ATX connectors.

Fast Learner: That's a small version only used in certain HP, Gateway and eMacines models. They were built in two styles, one bolting to the case on the longer side, one on the shorter side, depending on some engineer's whims I suppose. I've had to modify cases to make the wrong one fit when I couldn't find the correct one...

Classicsoftware:

That sounds like a standard power supply, the one I just measured is the same. Check it and see, unless that's a commercially built PC like Compaq or Dell, it should have a standard power supply. If the measurements you posted are accurate, you should be able to drop any standard ATX power supply in that box and carry on.

Well that's happens when you send a non-expert to do a job. I sent my wife to the local computer shop and they said they could not help, it was non -standard.

I picked up a nice 420w psu for $23.00 and the system is humming nicely......

Thnaks for all of the help guys....
