Can anybody tell me what a continuous non-stop beep on boot with Phoenix BIOS relates to? Screen displays "check video cable & PC".
Tried reseating video, memory, checked monitor cable etc, etc. Replaced video and memory, still get the beep.
When RAM is removed, after rebooting no beeps but screen still displays message.
When a floppy is inserted the beeps turn to a series of 2 beeps continuous.
Is this a board replacement?
Or is it a faulty drive?

Is this a new build or a machine in which this problem recently developed?

What kind of motherboard are we talking about (Chipset, processor type)?

Is it in an off the shelf machine (like an HP or Compaq)?

I would say that it is video, and if this machine has onbaord video, is it disabled, you said you tried reseating the video card, is an AGP or PCI card?

Have you tried another video card?

Have you reseated the processor? HSF? Is the fan working?

The PC is a Gateway with a Pentium MMX 200mhz on a Intel 370 board.
The card is PCI, it's been reseated and tested in another machine, seems ok.
Likewise has been done to memory, CPU and a/drive.
Fan is working ok, keyboard lights and sound would suggest mainboard getting power ok, but could the power to the RAM be faulty?
Thanks in advance guys.

Cant seem to find any Phoenix codes that relate to a single continuous beep.Could it be that the beep from the machine could be hard drive failure? therefore not letting me into BIOS.

You do not need the HD to get into BIOS.
Appears to be a motherboard problem.
See if you can swap it out or get it tested at a shop.
Also, get your power supply module checked.
