polling and interrupt

Hi, can anyone help me find where i might get diagrams and flowcharts to explain "priority interrupt controller" and "polling for priority" techniques, not sure how to answer.

I'll be perfectly honest here and say this is not my league but is this (http://www.zilog.com/docs/z8encore/appnotes/an0141.pdf) any good?
It's a pdf doc by the way.
