Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Before I partially upgraded my system with a few SP2 patches (mostly security and media player) Dreamweaver was running perfectly on my system. But ever since then it's been running really slow. Even something as small as adding a break (shift + enter) will cause 100% of my resources to be used. Man it's frustrating, and I'd really like to avoid having to reinstall everythign just for one program. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Dreamweaver with no luck . Also tried the 7.01 update, but its still giving me problems. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm encountering a similar issue with a particular application running slow and hogging system resources when I read your post. In my case the application is ToonBoom.

Did you fix your problem ...how?

I would have tried uninstalling the Windows Update patches one at a time to see which one caused the problem rather than the primary applications.
I also suggest backups just in case a update causes problems.

For Dreamweaver users, there are a number of issues to deal with after installing SP2, performance is the least of them. I suggest you start with this link. There is another one at the bottom of that page.

pop pop, thanks for the link but I've unfortunately exhausted all of their "answers" with no luck still.

PrntRhd, have not tried that yet - fortunately I've found a solution around my problem (see below paragraph :D)

vamparella, the only solution that's worked perfectly so far is my switch back to Macromedia 4 :D. Worked like a charm.

thanx for the advice and efforts folks.
