How to Turn Off Offline Files [Archive] - The PC Guide Discussion Forums

Working on a Dell computer, running Windows XP Professional. Unable to put this machine into 'Standby.' Message says that ;Offline Files mode' is preventing this. Computer attempts to go into Standby, but then turns back on. Machine can be turned off by power switch or the 'Turn Off' command, but user wants to use the Standby mode.

I've heard that XP Pro can be put in Briefcase or Offline Files mode, but don't know how to do it.

Any suggestions?

Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > Offline Files
